Hello October!!!!!

Happy Monday All! October is here and the cool weather is right around the corner! Yippee!

Looking Ahead....

  • Monday, October 1st to Thursday, October 11th - Conferences 
  • Friday, October 5th - Jesuit Heritage Mass at Brophyy at 9:30 - No students will be allowed to leave the gym during Mass. Please see the school's eblast for any questions. 
  • Saturday, October 6th - School Auction 
  • Wednesday, October 10th and Thursday, October 11th - Half Day - dismissal @ 1:15
  • Friday, October 12th and Monday, October 15th - NO SCHOOL

English Language Arts



Grammar - We will working on action, helping, and linking verbs. We will discuss verb tenses, and we will continue to review common and proper nouns.

Reading - We will be working on understanding the difference between Fact and Opinion. We will have Google Classroom Homework on Thursday, October 5th, which will take the place of a test grade.

Writing - This week, we will write our "sloppy copy" postcard message to a school in another state. We will review them for errors, and then neatly write them out on Arizona postcards. We will mail them out and await the return of the postcards from the other schools across the country.

Social Studies

The students will be assessed on both the states and capitals tomorrow, Tuesday, October 2nd in the Southeast Region.

Coming Up...ALL 50 STATES (spelling counts) = Friday, October 19th 

Math

We are subtracting very large numbers with a great deal of regrouping. The students are also using tape diagrams to model word problems.

Science

We are continuing with Lesson 2: Refraction. The students will be observing convex and concave lens.

The lab book is due on Wednesday and the vocabulary test will be Friday.

Religion

Our focus is on the Act of Love. The test will be Friday, October 5th. 

We are working on the school-wide Pop Tab Collection. Some students will be ambassadors to different classrooms to assist in understanding this project.
