We are doing multiplication of up to four digit by single-digit numbers. The students will be using a strategy called partial product, which is probably something you are unfamiliar with. Please let your child teach this strategy. We will also be using the area model. Soon the students will use the standard algorithm.
This week, the timed test is x3. The students will take it Thursday after the field trip for a grade. It is 1 minute for 20 problems. We took the pretest today, so your child knows how hard he/she has to study for this quiz.
Science
We have started a new module, Chemistry, Matter, and Interactions. This week, the focus is on matter. The students will use a triple beam balance to measure mass. We will have a vocabulary quiz on Friday.
Religion
