Social Studies

We are going to begin to learn about the Spanish Explorers and Missionaries. This is Ch. 5 in our Discovering AZ textbook.

Math

In Xtramath, I moved all the students to multiplication.  Please practice with them at home so they have mastery of the basic facts.

The students this week will be using place value disks to represent two-digit by one-digit multiplication. The students will use the strategy called partial product. Ask them to show you what that means. We will then use the disks to represent three and four-digit by one digit multiplication. Then finally we will use the standard algorithm to solve the problems.  Of course, we will also solve word problems, too.

Science

We will be finishing Chapter 5 Lesson 4 this week.  Changes Caused By the Weather.

Religion

This week in Religion we will review the Fruits of the Holy Spirit.  We will be writing a prayer for strength to live in true freedom by making good choices.  We are also going to talk about Veteran's Day and invite the children to bring a photo of a relative or friend that is or was a veteran to place on our altar at school.
